Just found a box of childhood memories and found this in a paper I wrote in high school.....
section from my family...
...The family reunions that I remember the most are those at Crooked River Ranch in Eastern Oregon. The whole family camped outside a huge ranch house that we only used for those frequent trips to the bathroom and cooking. We would build huge bon fires, and sing numerous campfire songs to the bats above (side note - i still remember all those bats out there). We would go horseback riding in the surrounding mountains, however I never got to ride my own horse because I was too young. I also remember our annual family talent show. My mother and her sisters were excellent lip-syncers(side note - still are!), while my brother and I became quite talented at acting out songs like "Bicycle built for two" (side note - thanks mom).
